Ocean Shores ~ March 28-29, 2010

On Sunday we headed out to Ocean Shores with the family. Brooks had a great time playing at the beach - it was super windy, but he didn't care! This was his first time being able to walk on the beach all by himself! We had a great day - went to lunch, hung out at the beach, and relaxed back at the house. That night Brooks, Oly and I stayed with Mary Kay (my mother in law) - along with her two dogs Chardonnay and Canby. We had a fun evening together and then a relaxing Monday morning. Went to lunch at a great burger place before we hit the road that afternoon. Love my in-laws!!

Reba & George

Last Saturday Cheryl and I went to the George Strait concert in Tacoma! Reba opened for George, and Leann Womak opened for Reba. WOW - was an amazing show! Leann was awesome...then Reba - we had seen her in concert before, and she is one of the best entertainers EVER!! Once she was done, we felt that the concert was done - but we still had the King of Country to perform! I was super excited to see George Strait - he is such a legend - a true country boy. We had a blast!

While Brooks was taking his nap this morning, I was busy cleaning the house. When I came upstairs to clean the bathroom, this is where I found Oly. She was taking a nap too (before I woke her up with the camera), waiting for her buddy to get up from his nap. She is so sweet.

Hiking in Olympia

On Monday we discovered a great little hiking spot right in the middle of Olympia ~ who knew?! Watershed park is only about 7 minutes from our house - we've passed it a million times, but we have never stopped. It was a gorgeous day out and we really wanted to get out and enjoy it! The total hike was a little over a mile long, but, ours ended up being closer to 2 miles - we took a wrong turn and came out of the wrong exit - oops! Oh well, we enjoyed our little family outing. We look forward to hiking it again to see what all blooms along the trails. We truly love living in the NW!

Happy 1st Birthday Brooks!

Brooks turned the big 1 on Monday! We have been having so much fun celebrating this first year. Wow, has it gone by fast!!! On Sunday we had a cowboy birthday party - celebrating with lots of family and friends. And on Monday we went to the Painted Plate, out to lunch, to the park and out for ice cream! There are several posts below of all the festivities!

Erik's Quick Visit

While traveling on the west coast for work, my brother was able to make it up for a quick visit! We spent the day in Portland - went to our cousin Sara's soccer game, then out to lunch. It was way too little time, but I'll take what I can get :)

After lunch we decided to get some ice cream ~ Erik got a strawberry shake. He gave Brooks a little taste, and before we knew it, Brooks grabbed the straw wanting more! As the two shared the shake together, they soon became covered in it ~ didn't get any pictures of this because I was laughing too hard! Thanks Uncle Erik!
